Well-respected Bears writer believes that if the Bears are willing to trade for anyone this offseason, they should look into DK Metcalf. He says it might not be that likely, but it makes the most sense out of anyone currently on the trade block. If there is one thing that is certain this offseason, no player is safe for being traded.

Metcalf is entering the last year of his rookie contract. Entering this offseason, it seemed like the Seahawks extending Metcalf was a given at his young age (24) and because of his great production in his first three NFL seasons. However, after trading superstar quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos, Metcalf's future in Seattle is not as clear as before.

Metcalf is an incredible athlete. You could make a case he is one of the 3 or 4 most gifted players in the NFL. He has been very productive as well since entered the league. He has amassed 3170 receiving yards and 29 touchdowns in his first 3 seasons. D.K is also extremely durable. He has never missed a game in his career so far.

The Bears would be able to pay him what he deserves. With the projected $123 million in cap space next season, it would not be a problem.

Metcalf also has ties with the Chicago Bears. His father, Terrence played offensive guard with the Bears from 2002 to 2009. According to his father, DK began seriously considering playing football after watching the Bears celebrate the 2006 NFC championship.

Dk was able to visit the locker room and celebrate with his father after the Bears win. It was at this moment that he began to pursue football. «Just seeing all the excitement and enthusiasm that up close at such a young age, I know that affected him. Because that very next year we started talking to him about possibly playing.» said the father.

This could be a perfect reunion for D.K and the Bears...
