"During his eight seasons with the Chicago Bears, you were hard pressed to find another player in the entire NFL more exciting than Devin Hester. Hester was one of the greatest athletes to ever step on a football field and he officially announced his retirement with a heartfelt letter posted to his social media accounts. «To all the Bears fans, you brought me in and made a Florida boy feel at home in the Midwest from Day 1,» he wrote. «I grew into a man, built a family and became who I am today in the city of Chicago. I'll always remember the noise y'all made whenever I hit the open turf at Soldier (Field) — never heard anything quite like it. I'd also like to especially thank coach Lovie Smith for taking a chance on me in the draft and getting this whole thing started.» Now the debate will begin if Devin Hester belongs in Pro Football Hall of Fame. Hester has the most kicks returned for touchdowns in NFL with 20 (14 punts, five kickoffs and one missed field goal) and that doesn't include returning the opening kickoff of Super Bowl XLI to the house. There are only three special teamers, two kickers and a punter, currently in the Hall of Fame, but Hester revolutionized the game. He changed the course of the game every time he stepped on the field and nobody ever did it better than he did. Congratulations on a tremendous career and thank you for all the memories!
