Kyle Long Beats Up Teammate With Helmet Then Pukes On Sideline.
"After a great and productive training camp, it's been a very tense last couple of days. We saw a shouting match between Akiem Hicks and Kyle Long on the weekend, then we saw Javon Wims and Prince Amukamara get into an actual physical altercation which had to be broken up by head coach Matt Nagy, then things got absolutely crazy Wednesday night. Long absolutely went bezerk as he started fighting with defensive lineman Jalen Dalton, then ripped Dalton's helmet off his head, proceeded to beat Dalton with his helmet than launched it to the sideline. The guard was then seen puking from the sideline and was excused from the rest of practice. Needless to say, Nagy was not happy. «We all saw what we saw and I saw the same thing,» Nagy said. «I'm going to keep that between us internally, but it was just disappointing.»
«We talk about it as a team … and that kind of stuff, we just don't do,» Nagy said. «And I think at some point in time we've got to prove that we're a mature team. We are. I've been saying it to you all for the longest time — we have a bunch of high-character people. That starts with us as coaches, making sure we lead these guys the right way, and make sure that they understand that that can't happen.«It can't happen. It's not gonna happen. But we'll handle that internally. I'll have man-to-man, one-on-one discussions with everybody and make sure it's handled the right way.»Quite a practice for Bears RG Kyle Long tonight. Got into a scrap with rookie DE Jalen Dalton. Took Dalton's helmet and starting hitting him with it. Then chucked it down the field. Was pulled from practice.Oh, and then Long barfed a couple times on the sideline.
