Bills General Manager Brandon Beane shared the uplifting news on Tuesday, confirming that Hamlin has rejoined the team and is raring to go.
With off-season organized team activities (OTAs) kicking off on May 22, fans could see Hamlin back in uniform for the first time since his health scare. The Bills will also hold their minicamp from June 13 to 15. The NFL's 2023 preseason games are slated to begin on August 3, while the highly anticipated season openers will take place on September 7.
Hamlin faced a life-threatening situation on the field in Cincinnati, requiring immediate resuscitation and emergency surgery at a local hospital on January 2. His NFL future was uncertain as he embarked on a months-long rehabilitation journey.
In the meantime, Hamlin made several public appearances across the nation, including during the Super Bowl festivities in Arizona. There, he was honored with the NFLPA's prestigious Alan Page Community Award. Additionally, he participated in a pregame ceremony where the NFL celebrated the Bills, Bengals, and the dedicated medical and training staffs, along with first responders who tended to the Pittsburgh native during his crisis.
Back in February, reports indicated that Hamlin still had a few doctor appointments ahead to decide if he could fulfill his ambition of returning to the league.
