"Huge news for Chicago Bears' fans on Tuesday. After fans and analysts have been screaming for head coach Matt Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace to be fired, it seems like the man who would do it will walk away from the team first. According to David Kaplan of ESPN1000 and NBC Sports Chicago, longtime Bears' President Ted Phillips will likely retire after this season. Phillips has been with the team since 1983 and became the Vice President of Operations in 1993 before being promoted to President in 1999. Some believe that Phillips has been the biggest problem around the team for years as he continues to just point the finger at his head coach and GM's while saying "he doesn't make the football decisions". Hopefully the Bears look outside the organization for the next President. More to come.
According to @thekapman, rumor is that Ted Phillips is considering retiring after this season. #DaBears — Butkus Stats & Analytics (@ButkusStats) December 7, 2020
