We made an excellent addition by way of Chase Claypool, who will hopefully have a more significant impact next year, and Montgomery and Herbert set the single-season Bears record for rushing yards with 3,014. I was at the game vs the Texans at the beginning of the season when Herbert went off after Montgomery went down, and I am very excited to see them at it again next year.
This season was never about winning, it was about studying, and planning for the future of the franchise. Ryan Poles does not take shortcuts, and that is going to make us a powerhouse in years to come. We have a young talented crew, good upper management, over $100 million in cap space, and the number-one pick in the draft. To not have faith in the Bears right now or to want to trade Justin away sounds ridiculous, yet that's what I see in the comments.
Patience is a virtue most fans of this beloved franchise should be familiar with; those who can't stand the time it takes to change will see come next season, until then I'll keep my faith in Poles, Eberflus, and Fields.
