The Chicago Bears have been tight-lipped about their offensive line plans for 2023, claiming they aim to get the top five blockers on the field. Fans and media alike believed that at least two members of last year's lineup, left tackle Braxton Jones and right guard Teven Jenkins, were secure due to their solid performances and potential for growth.

However, this assumption was challenged when the Bears signed free agent Nate Davis in March. With Davis having exclusively played right guard throughout his career, questions arose about Jenkins' future position. Would he be moved to the left side, tried at right tackle, or even traded? Jenkins himself finally cleared the air about his 2023 prospects.

Teven Jenkins' adaptability has already shown its worth. After playing well at left tackle in 2021 and excelling as a right guard in 2022, it makes sense for the Bears coaching staff to shift him to left guard. This move positions him next to Jones, allowing the two top run blockers from last season to form a powerful duo.

The remaining question is the fate of Cody Whitehair, last season's starting left guard. It's likely he will return to the center position, competing with Lucas Patrick for the spot. With right tackle still up in the air, many anticipate that the Bears will address this in the draft. The main concern is whether these changes might disrupt Jenkins' progress. Since injuries have prevented him from completing a full NFL season, the Bears' management is likely keeping a close eye on his health before committing long-term.

Indeed, it's a crucial year for the former 2nd round pick.
