However, let's just say the Bears' history of drafting wide receivers has not been satisfactory. In fact, the bears have only drafted two wide receivers that have had a season with more than 1000 receiving yards:
-Alshon Jeffery
-Darnell Mooney
Jeffery was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 2nd round (45th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft. He was very productive during his 5 seasons with the Bears. he actually had two seasons surpassing 1000 receiving yards, including one of 1 421 yards. For a second-round draft choice, he was a great value pick.
As for Mooney, he was truly the definition of a steal. Mooney was picked by the Chicago Bears in the 5th round (173rd overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. In just his second season, Mooney hauled in 81 receptions for 1055 yards. Considering he was playing for a different QB every week and his play-caller was one of the worst in the NFL, this is massively impressive. Ryan Pace does deserve a lot of credit for finding Mooney in the 5th round!
