This film is all about one of the biggest personalities and icon in all of sports: John Madden. It will be about his life, friendships, what made him this NFL legend, and why he stepped away from the game.
The film will be directed by 5-time Oscar nominee: David O. Russell, whose films like American Hustle, The Fighter, and Silver Linings Playbook are widely known and praised. His film Silver Linings Playbook is a romantic drama about love, family, and football! That film shows us that O. Russell knows his stuff when it comes to the NFL, proving himself worthy of making a film all about the icon of the game.
Though some may be wondering if Ferrell is the right casting choice, I believe that he is the right pick. Ferrell brings in heart and humour to all of his performances, and that is exactly who Madden was.
