OC Shane Waldron makes strange comment on Khalil Herbert
The Chicago Bears offense has been off to a rough start so far this season and one of the biggest holes comes from their running game.
The Bears are loaded with talent in the back field with Khalil Herbert, D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson but they cannot seem to figure it out as they are averaging 72.2 yards per game when it come to rushing.
Offensive coordinator Shane Waldron made some intersting comment regarding running back Khalil Herbert after reporters pointed out that he does not have many carries so far this season.
Waldron stated that the team sees Herbert as a short yardage running back and goal line back which means he will likely not see other situations throughout the year.
«The plan was going in for Khalil to be our short-yardage, goal-line back. He's done an excellent job. We have all the faith in the world in all of our guys,» Waldron said.
This is a strange decision since they have used Swift in all sorts of different situations yet the two players have very similar builds and skills.
Many fans believe that using Herbert in this way does not make any sense when they have Roschon Johnson as well.
