The Chicago Bears made a roster announcement on Tuesday, the announcement won't come to a shock to too many Bears fans.The team announced that they've placed offensive guard Kyle Long on injured reserve after suffering a shoulder injury in the second quarter against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. It was just a couple of weeks ago, various reporters suggested that the Bears shut long down for the season to avoid any further injury and let him heal up and be ready for the 2018 season after dealing with various injuries. The former Pro Bowler has had a tough last couple of years, he only appeared in eight games for the Bears last season. He had offseason ankle surgery and also played through a torn labrum last year. This season hasn't been much better, injuring his hand and missed the first two games of the season while dealing with recovery involving the ankle surgery. Some argue the Bears didn't make the move earlier because they don't really have anybody they feel comfortable with to replace him. We could see Cody Whitehair move over to guard while Hroniss Grasu replaces Whitehair at center.
