With John Fox having officially been let go from his Chicago Bears head coaching gig and general manager Ryan Pace receiving an extension, the search is on for the next head coach. The majority of reports indicate that the Bears will target a young offensive minded head coach to help young QB Mitch Trubisky. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the team already has two targets in mind. Rapoport Tweeted out that the team has requested permission to speak with two respected QB "gurus" in New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels along with Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur. McDaniels would obviously be a huge piece to help grow Trubisky, however many reports out of New England have indicated over the past couple of seasons that McDaniels is staying put until Bill Belichick retires. Shurmur will be one of this season's hottest coaching targets with reports having Detroit and Arizona interested in him as well. Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said team's are more than welcome to travel to Minny during the team's bye week before their playoff game to talk to him. Both coaches have shown that they can develop young QB's.
