"The Chicago Bears announced that general manager Ryan Pace had interviewed defensive coordinator Vic Fangio for the team's vacant head coaching position on Wednesday. The team has been openly appreciative of the work that Fangio has done with the team's defense over the last couple of seasons after the team had been recognized as some of the worst defenses in Bears history. While it's probably unlikely Fangio lands the position of head coach, he could still possibly stay on to handle the defense if the team hires an offensive minded head coach. The Bears young defense could continue to grow under Fangio's watch with a familiar system. Fangio said in December he was "definitely interested" in following things through with the Bears and a bunch of players feel the same way. «Most definitely, but that's just me,» Leonard Floyd said. «I don't really run [anything] much in the building. But that's a great guy. I love him to death.»Said cornerback Prince Amukamara: «Guys love him. We respect him. If I was here, I'd hope he stays.»Said Eddie Goldman: «He gave you advice on the way. You really could tell he knew the ins and outs of the game.»The Bears will continue the interview process with a stop in Minneapolis on Thursday to interview Vikings defensive coordinator George Edwards and offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur.
