A report surfaced recently that the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers would open the 2019 season instead of the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots. The move would be made to help celebrate the league's 100th year anniversary. Now it seems to be confirmed according to John Ourand of the Sports Business Journal. It would be the first time since 2006 that the defending Super Bowl champs didn't play in the NFL's opening night. Ourand adds that the move would likely move the Patriots to make their debut the following Sunday Night. The Bears are also expected to play the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day.
