The former Chicago Bears player was responding to the expulsion of State Representative Justin Jones, who was removed from Tennessee's legislature for protesting against gun violence on the chamber floor. The Republican-majority House of Representatives voted 72-25 to expel Jones and 69-26 to oust Justin Pearson for their actions.
Jones and Pearson were accused of engaging in "disorderly behavior" and intentionally bringing «disorder and dishonor to the House of Representatives» during the protests. Despite his expulsion, Jones remains unapologetic and is determined to continue advocating for his constituents.
Jones told CNN:
Hunter Hillenmeyer was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He was later cut by the Packers and signed with the Chicago Bears, where he played from 2003 to 2010. Hillenmeyer recorded 362 tackles, seven sacks, seven forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, and two interceptions during his tenure. After suffering a concussion in September 2010, which ended his season, he was released by the Bears the following offseason.
