Former Bears' Allen Robinson has been traded!
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Pittsburgh Steelers are in the process of finalizing a trade with the Los Angeles Rams to acquire the experienced wide receiver. The Steelers have been given the green light to conduct a physical examination on the 29-year-old Robinson, and if they are satisfied with the outcome, the deal is expected to be sealed.
Hailing from Detroit, Robinson took to the field in 10 games for the Rams last season. He managed to secure 33 catches for 339 yards and scored three touchdowns.
Robinson inked a three-year, $46.5 million contract with the Rams in the previous offseason, following a four-season stint with the Chicago Bears. Details regarding compensation or whether the Rams will absorb any of Robinson's $15.25 million in guaranteed money to expedite the trade remain undisclosed.
Robinson's arrival in Los Angeles last year was met with great enthusiasm, but he participated in only 10 games and concluded the season with a modest 33 receptions for 339 yards and three touchdowns.
The Steelers' wide receiver depth chart currently features George Pickens and Diontae Johnson at the top. Should the trade materialize, Robinson is expected to rank higher than Calvin Austin, Cody White, Anthony Miller, and Gunner Olszewski, who are currently behind Pickens and Johnson.
