On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs secured their spot in this season's Super Bowl, awaiting the winner of the Lions-49ers game later in the day. However, the Chiefs' victory was not without the influence of former Bears coaches and players.

Here's a look at those who had a significant impact on the game, along with other former Bears players who are still in the playoffs.

1. **Matt Nagy:** Nagy, aged 45, served as the head coach of the Bears from 2018 to 2021. In 2018, he earned the NFL's Coach of the Year award for leading the Bears to a 12-4 regular season record with a dominant defense. After two seasons of mediocrity, the Bears parted ways with Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace. Nagy found his way back to his hometown team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

In 2022, Nagy took on the role of senior assistant and quarterbacks coach, working closely with Patrick Mahomes. This season, he was promoted to offensive coordinator, a position he previously held from 2016 to 2017. Under Nagy's guidance, the Chiefs scored 17 points against the Ravens, who had the top-ranked defense during the regular season. Mahomes threw for 241 yards and one touchdown to Travis Kelce, who led the team with 11 catches for 116 yards.

2. **Deon Bush:** Bush, aged 30, was drafted by the Bears in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft. He spent six seasons in Chicago as a backup defensive back and safety, accumulating 73 tackles, 16 assists, one sack, and three interceptions in 79 games.

Bush joined the Chiefs in 2022, transitioning between the team's active roster and practice squad. During this season, he played in six regular-season games with the Chiefs. However, he made a crucial impact in the AFC Championship game against the Ravens. He prevented a touchdown by intercepting a pass from Lamar Jackson intended for Isaiah Likely, effectively sealing the game and sending the Chiefs to the Super Bowl.

Other former Bears players competing in the conference championships include running back David Montgomery and cornerback Kindle Vildor with the Detroit Lions, safety Tashaun Gipson Jr. with the San Francisco 49ers, and linebacker Roquan Smith and center Sam Mustipher with the Baltimore Ravens.
