Netflix extended an invitation to Fields to feature in the upcoming season of 'Quarterback,' an offer he politely declined. Fields shared with reporters on Tuesday, "They indeed reached out to me, but I chose not to do it. I'd prefer to keep things as they are around here. Introducing cameras into the building could potentially alter the dynamics. I want to maintain an authentic environment, focusing solely on what's happening within these walls."
Fields asserted he took this call independently, without consulting his teammates. However, he didn't completely dismiss the possibility of appearing on the series someday: "Maybe in the future, but I don't envision doing it this year, at least."
'Quarterback' offers a glimpse into the lives of NFL stars, like Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings, and former Atlanta Falcons QB Marcus Mariota (now part of the Philadelphia Eagles), both on and off the pitch. All three players were equipped with mics for the entirety of the 2022 season.
Fields confessed to enjoying the show, commenting on Tuesday, "It was intriguing to witness the diverse backgrounds and preparations of these players. It was also interesting to explore their personal lives and see how they juggle it with football. The series certainly underscores the immense hard work and mental preparation required to be a quarterback, offering viewers a first-hand perspective of our challenges."
Fields is no stranger to having cameras tail him. His final year at Harrison High School in Kennesaw, Georgia, was captured in Netflix's second season of "QB1: Beyond the Lights".
