Ryan Anderson took it upon himself to break the news, sharing a photo of the moment he inked his deal with the NFC North squad.
Anderson shone brightly at Rutgers University, where he not only secured a spot on the First Team All-Big Ten but also received the Eddleman-Fields Punter of the Year award in 2017. To this day, he continues to hold the single-season punting average record at Rutgers.
The punter had a stint in the now-defunct Alliance of American Football in 2019 and later signed an offseason contract with the Giants. However, Anderson has yet to make his debut in a regular-season game.
The Bears also have 2022 seventh-round pick Trenton Gill on their roster. In his rookie season, Gill boasted an impressive average of 46 yards per punt.
