Minnesota Vikings Release Statement in Regards to Hateful/Racist Comments Coming Towards their Running Back
This is just awful.
After the Vikings loss against the Eagles last night, Vikings running back Alexander Mattison has been receiving racist and hatred comments and messages. Fans and fantasy football owners were upset about his poor performance in the game, and decided to send him these disgusting messages.
After Mattison shared some messages he received, the Vikings posted a statement, via Twitter:
Some of the messages that Mattison received were truly disgusting to read. He is a person, and not just some guy you bet money on. This is a new low, and this should never happen.
I myself play fantasy football, and I also started Mattison last night. Never in a million years would I ever message a player and send these disgusting messages, just because it may cost me to lose a game. If you feel like you need to send these messages, then you should not be playing fantasy football, or even be watching football.
Remember everyone, it is a game...and these are real people!
