In a new mock draft from insider Phil Perry, he predicts that the Bears will go with the obvious choice at number 1 and select USC QB Caleb Williams, but he has an interesting name at number 9:
With the 9th overall pick, Perry predicts that the Bears will draft Georgia TE Brock Bowers:
Bowers completed his college career as a 2-time National Champion, award with the John Mackey Award twice, and was named as a Unanimous All-American, First-team All-American, Second-team All-American, SEC Freshman of the Year, and a 3-time first-team All-SEC.
Bowers is certainly an impressive blocker, but his WR way of playing the TE position is something that scouts have noted.
So, even though the Bears already have a standout TE, Perry still feels like Bowers will fit in well in Chicago due to his different approach as a TE.
