After hiring Harry Hiestand as O-Line coach, new Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy is starting to really piece together his coaching staff. The team announced some more hirings on Friday which included two familiar faces. To start, Nagy has selected Mark Helfrich as his offensive coordinator. While Nagy will make most of the playcalls, Helfrich will hopefully be designing plays to have Tarik Cohen involved. The new OC spent 2017 working as a college football analyst after going 37-17 as the Oregon Ducks head coach before being let go after the 2016 season. Nagy has also brought on former Bears assistant wide receivers coach Charles London. After also putting in time as offensive quality control coach under Lovie Smith, Long spent the last four years as the Houston Texans running backs coach. Finally, Nagy also found his special teams coordinator in Chris Tabor. This will also mark a return to Chicago for Tabor who served as Dave Toub's special teams assistant from 2008-10. He's spent the last seven seasons in Cleveland as special teams coordinator where he had the Browns ranked very well across the board in special teams stats. We should have plenty more hires to come in the next couple of days.
