They have already made one significant move, trading back from the No. 1 overall pick to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for a considerable haul. This included an additional second-round pick in the 2023 draft (No. 61 overall), as well as the Panthers' first-round pick in 2024 and second-round pick in 2025.
Now, the Bears are reportedly considering another trade, this time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, to potentially move back from their current position at No. 9 overall to the No. 17 overall pick. While the return for this trade may not be as substantial as their previous move, it could still provide the Bears with a valuable opportunity to acquire an additional pick in the early parts of the second round, where the talent is considered deep.
In a recent episode of the Bootleg Football Podcast, hosted by E.J. Snyder of Windy City Gridiron, it was revealed that the Bears have been engaged in trade conversations with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
This strategic move could allow the Bears to accumulate more draft capital and further bolster their roster. Poles and the Bears' front office seem to be actively exploring all options to maximize their chances of finding the right talent in the draft.
Snyder goes on to say
The NFL draft is set to begin at 8 pm Eastern on April 27th 2023.
