Jones, a two-year starter at right tackle for Ohio State, allowed zero sacks or hits on quarterback C.J. Stroud in 2022. Although typically ranked lower than Johnson, he might be a better fit for the Bears as they seek to draft a tackle with experience on the right side to pair with Braxton Jones. The Bears have also held top 30 visits with Georgia's Broderick Jones, Tennessee's Darnell Wright, and other tackle prospects in the class.
With the ninth overall pick, the Bears are unlikely to select Jones, but his size and strength could make him a trade-down target. At 6-foot-8 and 374 pounds, Jones boasts an elite size, hands, arms, and wingspan. However, concerns about his fit in the Bears' wide zone scheme remain. General manager Ryan Poles is open to trading further into the first round.
