On Thursday, the Bears announced that cornerback Kyler Gordon has been moved to the injured reserve list due to a hand injury he picked up during the season opener against the Packers.

The young talent, who was a second-round draft pick in 2022, will be sidelined for at least four games. He's slated to make his return on Sunday, Oct. 15, when the Bears take on the Vikings at Soldier Field.

During his rookie year, Gordon had an impressive run, starting in 14 games. He accumulated 71 tackles, three interceptions, two tackles-for-loss, six pass breakups, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. In the recent clash with Green Bay, he managed to notch up one tackle and one pass breakup before his injury.

In a simultaneous move, the Bears promoted cornerback Greg Stroman Jr. from the practice squad. Additionally, rookie safety Macon Clark, who was earlier released during the final cuts, has been brought back to the practice squad.

Stroman had brief stints with the Bears last season, featuring in two games and securing a start in one of them. His contributions included eight tackles, one interception, and one pass breakup. Before joining the Bears, he had a three-season run with the Commanders (2018-20), where he amassed 38 tackles, one interception, four pass breakups, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.

Clark, an undrafted free agent from Tulane, had joined the Bears earlier this year.
