In the video, Carter denies participating in a race when questioned by the officers.
Carter also appeared uncertain about how far behind he was from the car police allege he was racing before the crash. The accident in January resulted in the deaths of Georgia football player Devin Willock and recruiting staff member Chandler LeCroy, causing Carter's draft stock to take a hit. On March 1, authorities in Athens, GA, issued an arrest warrant for Carter on charges of racing and reckless driving in connection to the accident.
Carter posted bond and was released on the same day.
Subsequently, it was reported that Carter would not face jail time after entering a plea deal. Instead, he will serve 12 months of probation, pay a $1,000 fine, and complete 80 hours of community service.
