Bears GM breaks silence on Caleb Williams' outlandish contract requests
Caleb Williams had numerous contract requests prior to signing his rookie deal and some felt like they were a bit outlandish.
As we previously reported, Williams was looking to get paid through his LLC as opposed to his individual bank account. Furthermore, he wanted the Bears to forego franchise tagging him at the end of his deal. Of course, the Bears said no to all of these demands. However, as Ryan Poles recently explained via Sports Illustrated, these demands are not as wild as everyone has been making them out to be.
If Caleb Williams has a phenomenal rookie season, then none of this is actually going to matter. However, if he is a bust, then all of these issues will have been for nothing. Hopefully, that will not be the case.
