In the Chicago Bears loss to the Indianapolis Colts this past weekend, the team ended up losing their cornerback Terell Smith to injury.

Smith did not practice on Wednesday, and this caused quite a few concerns surrounding the team's depth. As a result, they decided to sign Ameer Speed to the practice roster. For those who may not know, Speed was a sixth-round pick of the New England Patriots last season. He only played five games with the team before playing eight with the Colts.

As a result of this signing, the team has released rookie Ro Terrence. It is a tough decision to make but it is ultimately for the betterment of the roster right now. Speed's status for Sunday is not confirmed as of right now. However, it does appear as though he will be used as a depth option just in case they need him. Needless to say, his signing was a bit of a luxury, at least until Smith can come back.

This weekend, the Chicago Bears will be in tough as they take on the Los Angeles Rams. This is a big game for the team as they look to get their offense going. Furthermore, in the eyes of many fans, this could be the team's last opportunity to get back to .500 before missing the playoffs almost becomes a certainty.
