A significant part of the NFL offseason is witnessing your favorite team's activity in signing free agents. The Chicago Bears have been no exception, recently adding talents like Gerald Everett, Kevin Byard, and D'Andre Swift through free agency, aiming for a return to the playoffs next season.

However, amidst the influx of new signings, some former Bears find themselves without a team. While a few ex-Chicago players have secured new opportunities, others are encountering difficulties in securing employment elsewhere.

Here are four former Bears facing challenges in finding a new team:

1. WR Equanimeous St. BrownEquanimeous St. Brown, previously a 2018 sixth-round pick by the Green Bay Packers, faces uncertainty after a disappointing 2023 season. With just five receptions for 62 yards and no touchdowns in six games last season, St. Brown's underwhelming performance has left him unsigned. Despite his potential, his lack of significant production and nearing age 28 may deter potential suitors from taking a chance on him.

2. TE Robert TonyanRobert Tonyan, once a standout tight end with the Green Bay Packers, struggled to make an impact in Chicago last season. With only 11 receptions for 112 yards and no touchdowns across 17 games, Tonyan's performance dipped significantly from his impressive 2020 campaign. At 29 years old, his below-average production and declining performance raise concerns about his future prospects in the league.

3. OL Lucas PatrickLucas Patrick, who transitioned to the center position for the Bears last season, faced challenges in pass protection, conceding 28 pressures and committing 11 penalties. With a subpar pass-block grade and inconsistent performances, Patrick's reliability as a starter is questioned. Despite his prior experience, teams may hesitate to sign him without improvements in his performance.

4. S Eddie JacksonEddie Jackson, known for his stellar performances in his early years with the Bears, saw a decline in his play in 2023. With below-par statistics, including surrendering 203 yards and three touchdowns on 12 catches, Jackson's performance fell short of expectations. While he brings experience, questions about his effectiveness as a starter linger, potentially delaying his search for a new team.

These former Bears face uncertainties in their NFL careers, highlighting the challenges of transitioning between teams and maintaining performance standards in a competitive league.
