Jonathan Owens is leaving the Bears but for a good reason
During the offseason, the Chicago Bears signed Jonathan Owens as a backup safety for Jaquan Brisker.
While training camp has just started, Owens will be excused from camp between July 29th and August 3rd. Why? You may ask. Well, it all has to do with his wife Simone Biles participating in the Olympic games. According to NBC Sports Chicago, the team is allowing Owens to leave for Paris so that he can support his wife.
As head coach Matt Eberflus said, this was an absolute no-brainer. At the end of the day, the organization is always going to prioritize family, especially when the circumstances are one-of-a-kind.
