Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus is under fire right now for his decision to sit Caleb Williams and other starters during the Hall of Fame Game.

On Thursday night, the Bears will take on the Houston Texans. However, you won't be seeing the team's best players on the field. Instead, you will see practice squad guys and other reserves.

According to Gene Chamberlain of Sports Illustrated, this has led to frustration and criticism directed at the head coach.

"Figured as much no starters Thursday night. Personally I feel it's a misstep on the part of #Bears could Caleb Williams have easily done 11-12 snaps every game and gotten the number Matt Eberflus and co. wanted. Oh Well it's still Chicago Bears football."

However, Chamberlain noted in his piece that fans should just trust Eberflus. At the end of the day, the coach is trusted to know what is best. Not to mention, it has been a decade since starters got playing time in the Hall of Fame Game.

Let us know if you feel as though Eberflus made the wrong decision, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to Let's Bear Down for the latest news and updates from around the football world.
