Bears Unveil Women's Advisory Board to Enhance Female Fan Experience

The Chicago Bears have announced the establishment of a women's advisory board aimed at strengthening the organization's relationship with female fans, promoting community engagement, and advocating for diversity and inclusion, as per a press release from the team.

Led by Karen B. Murphy, the newly appointed Executive Vice President of Stadium Development and Chief Operating Officer, the board consists of eight accomplished women:

- Barby K. Siegel, Global CEO, Zeno Group- Bridget Brennan, Founder and CEO, Female Factor- Dinai Yelverton, Founder, The uDe Agency & President, WISE Chicago- Hon. Patricia Brown Holmes (Ret.), Managing Partner, Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila- Juliana Zavala, Senior Manager of Elementary Sports, Chicago Public Schools- Karen B. Murphy, EVP of Stadium Development & Chief Operating Officer, Chicago Bears- Sheila Oliver, SVP and General Manager, WFLD-TV (FOX32 Chicago)- Suzanne Yoon, Founder and Managing Partner, Kinzie Capital

The Bears emphasize that the advisory board will play a crucial role in understanding and meeting the needs of the team's diverse female fan base.

Chicago Bears President & CEO Kevin Warren expressed appreciation for the passion of the team's female fans, highlighting their integral role in the football community. Warren affirmed the Bears' commitment to enhancing the gameday experience for female fans, as well as making a positive impact in the community.

Statistics provided by the Bears reveal that 16% of season ticket holders for the upcoming 2024 season are women, with 19% of them being people of color. Additionally, 43% of female Bears fans are under 45 years old, and 43% of this group are also people of color.

Further survey data indicates that 20% of female fans started following the Bears by age 8, while 42% consider the Bears their primary hometown sports team.

Karen B. Murphy expressed her excitement and honor in leading the Women's Advisory Board, emphasizing the significance of the female fan base and the board's goal of strengthening connections while advocating for diversity and inclusion in the Chicago community.
