The Chicago Bears have chosen Miami CB Tyrique Stevenson as their No. 56 overall pick in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Standing at 6-feet and weighing 198 pounds, Stevenson is a sizable cornerback from the University of Miami who possesses exceptional athleticism for his build. With a strong frame, impressive reach (32 and 3/8-inch arms), and a 4.45-second speed, Stevenson offers an ideal blend of size and agility, which may enable him to become Chicago's future CB1.

«After earning third-team All-ACC accolades, Stevenson was selected for the 2023 Senior Bowl where his draft stock continued to catapult,» wrote Jake Marcus of SB Nation's State of the U. «Of note, Stevenson impressed nearly every day at Senior Bowl practices locking down the nation's top wide receivers and was popping up on numerous mock drafts as early as the first round.»

Here's a scouting report on Stevenson, provided by NFL.com's Lance Zierlein:

Big cornerback with the size and play strength to help match up with bigger receivers in the league. Stevenson is patient but physical in press-man and has good recovery speed when he falls behind. He struggles as a pattern matcher in off-man and had issues with busts in zone, so he might be scheme-dependent. Stevenson is talented when attacking the catch point and has the ball skills to make plays on 50/50 throws. He needs to become more consistent in run support but has the physical attributes to become a starter in a press-man scheme.
