The Furman Paladins are mourning the loss of one of their standout defensive players, Bryce Stanfield, who tragically passed away at the young age of 21.
According to the college, Stanfield, a 21-year-old defensive lineman, suffered a medical emergency during a practice session earlier in the week and was hospitalized. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, he passed away on Friday night.
Furman head coach Clay Hendrix expressed profound sadness over Stanfield's sudden passing, emphasizing the impact it has had on the entire Furman community. He described Stanfield as an outstanding young man, student, football player, and friend, highlighting his contributions both on and off the field.
