5 NFL players who hooked up with cheerleaders
Is there anything more American than a cheerleader falling in love with a star football player? It seems like something out of a movie, totally unrealistic, right? Well, you couldn't be more wrong! This has happened in real life on more than one occasion, and it seems like cheerleaders are just too tempting for professional athletes to pass up. And cheerleaders obviously have trouble controlling themselves as well around NFL players!

1. Matthew Stafford and Kelly Hall
Well, the Detroit Lions look like trash this year but at least their quarterback gets to return home every night to a ten. Matt Stafford and his wife Kelly were married earlier in 2015 and they had been dating since they were in university, having met at Georgia. This was during the three years in which Stafford took the Bulldogs to three straight Bowl victories. She was a cheerleader at Georgia and while she doesn't still wave pom-poms at the games, she has been active on social media by supporting her husband during his team's rough start to this season.
2. Troy Aikman and Abigail Klein
Six Pro Bowl years, inductions into both the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame, and three Super Bowl rings may be the best way to sum up quarterback-turned-broadcaster Troy Aikman's amazing career. I could have listed him up with Kobe Bryant, but I have faith in the former Cowboy. I said I could have listed him with Kobe because some have suggested that he and former Cowboys cheerleader Abigail Klein were just friends, but there's no way Troy didn't get with her. Klein is unbelievably pretty (in case you hadn't noticed) and they dated for a little while after his divorce back in 2011.
3. Alex Smith and Elizabeth Barry
The best average quarterback in the league title belonged to Alex Smith for a while. Between his time with the San Francisco 49ers and the Chiefs, Smith has made a solid name for himself, as one of those guys who isn't a perennial All-Pro, but can manage games and put teams in the playoffs from time to time. In 2014, he also posted a confusing stat for not throwing a touchdown pass to a wide receiver.
His wife Elizabeth was a cheerleader for the Oakland Raiders when they met. He was playing for the 49ers at the time. The two were married in 2009 and have two children. For anyone wondering, yep, she's still hot.
4. Matt Schaub And Laura Schaub
One relationship that actually lasted between a cheerleader and an athlete is the one between Matt and Laurie Schaub. As Heavy reports, Laurie Schaub is an ex-cheerleader who performed for the Atlanta Falcons� a team which Matt Schaub plays for... Coincidence? We think not.
Today, she no longer cheers, but she is a proud mother of multiple children by Matt Schaub.

Rob Gronkowski is the tight end for the New England Patriots, and it should come as no surprise that he caught the eye of Camille Kostek during his time on the field. The Daily Mail describes his relationship with the New England Patriots cheerleader as "on and off," but also alleges that the two are becoming much more serious about their relationship.
In 2017, the Daily Mail reported that the two were "rekindling" their old romances, citing the pictures from a wedding both attended, and it seemed like the pair were very much an item.
