Last year, the Rams secured the NFC West division title with a record of 12-5, resulting in a Super Bowl 56 victory. Despite retaining the majority of their core players, the Rams appeared disjointed throughout the season and concluded with a disappointing 5-12 record. The Rams have no intention of trading elite talents such as defensive tackle Aaron Donald, quarterback Matthew Stafford, or wide receiver Cooper Kupp. However, rumors have arisen suggesting that the Rams may consider trading star cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who has a high salary.
The speculation of a Ramsey trade intensified after he posted the following tweet after the conclusion of the Rams' season: At NFL Analysis Network, Kenneth Teape proposed a potential trade scenario that would see the NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles acquire Ramsey from Los Angeles.
"What would it take to acquire him? The Rams cannot expect to receive the same return they paid for him a few years ago, but he still holds significant value. The Eagles could make a bold offer, putting their 2023 first-round pick and 2024 second-round pick, which they obtained from the New Orleans Saints, on the table, depending on the strength of the market.
At a minimum, the Eagles should offer a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and their additional second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. If the Eagles acquire the Jalen Ramsey that we have come to know and not the version from 2022, this would be yet another exceptional acquisition by General Manager Howie Roseman."
As Teape pointed out, veteran standout corner James Bradberry is set to become a free agent after this season. If the Eagles are unable to retain the 2022 Second-team All-Pro, adding Ramsey to their already talented defense would only increase their chances of winning another Super Bowl.
