However, Jenkins was moved to right guard instead of his natural tackle spot last week. He seemed very in control at his new spot, especially during the game at Seattle.
But, on Saturday, Adam Schefter reported that he thinks the likeliest scenario is till for him to be traded away form the Bears.
Schefter on Bears offensive lineman Teven Jenkins, «I still think (Teven Jenkins) will be traded,» Schefter said Saturday on ESPN 1000's Peggy and Dionne Show. «My belief is they'll wind up trading him before the final roster cutdown day or right around there, if not before. My guess would be that he is not a Bear this season.»
This is very intriguing considering he did well at guard on Thursday against Seattle and seems to be impressing the coaching staff so far
While I think Schefter is a great reporter and he is usually on point, I am not of the same idea as him. I expect Jenkins to not only be a Bear come Week 1 but to also start at the RG spot. I truly don't see a Teven Jenkins trade happening if he's practicing with the first-team offense a few weeks away from the beginning of the season.
That would be very negligent to do to Fields and the offense.
We will see...
