After the Draft: Four Players the Bears should pursue

The 2022 NFL Draft is officially over. Some of us are happy, some of us are not. Personally, I think Poles did a great job, we got some solid defensive and offensive players. The more changes I see Poles make the more I believe in his vision of the Bear's future. So in the spirit of rebuilding here are five players the Bears should pursue now that the draft is finished.

WR Jarvis Landry

With the Browns taking David Bell in the draft that probably means the end for Jarvis in Cleveland. If Odell Beckham Jr. resigns with the Rams then Jarvis will probably end up as a desirable sign. Coming off a lackluster 2021 season due to a knee injury, Landry is primed for a comeback year in 2022.

WR Julio Jones

There's something about the Jones', We drafted Velus Jones Jr. which is great but Mooney and Pringle are going to need more support. In comes Julio Jones, one of the most explosive receivers in the league in his prime. Julio would be a good addition to the Bears as a mentor to teach the younger guys. He was released by the Titans after a not wowing anyone last year, and the Bears could probably pick him up on the cheap. With such a young team it wouldn't be the worst outcome.

DE Melvin Ingram

The biggest name on a list of 20 unrestricted free agents from the Chiefs, Melvin could be a big pickup for the Bears. He creates a presence that allows other players to move around him. He only made 600k with the Chiefs last year so it would be pretty easy to pick him up for a little raise. After bouncing from the Steelers to Kansas maybe he can find his forever home in the Windy City.

WR Odell Beckham Jr.

Is he hot-headed? Sure. Is he a beast? Definitely. With a Super Bowl under his belt and a freshly healed ACL, Beckham is primed to either stay with the Rams or go somewhere else possibly with a lower salary until he shows that his ACL has been healed correctly. Whether it's worth the risk I'm not sure. But to exclude him from the conversation would be wrong.

Perhaps I should have named these four receivers the Bears should pursue but man I really want to see Fields have some solid weapons downfield this year. We will see how it plays out I suppose.
