The recent trade made by the Chicago Bears, in which they gave up the 1st overall pick to the Carolina Panthers for a package of picks and wide receiver D.J. Moore, was a shock to many in the football community. However, it seems that GM Ryan Poles is not afraid to take risks in order to improve his team. Poles believes that the Bears need more than just one pick to fix their issues.

One of the biggest surprises in the trade was the inclusion of D.J. Moore, who was by far the Panthers' best offensive player. Reports suggest that Poles refused to make the deal unless Moore was included, and the Panthers eventually caved. Moore will now join the Bears and provide their young quarterback Justin Fields with the best receiver he has had since his final season at Ohio State.

Although Darnell Mooney has been a very good receiver for the Bears, there is no denying that Moore has played at a Pro Bowl level for the past four years. While he may not be as fast as Mooney, he is bigger, stronger, and a better route-runner. Tyreek Hill, an All-Pro receiver, recognizes the potential that the combination of Fields and Moore could have and has expressed his excitement for what is to come.

Hill's optimism about Fields is not unfounded. He witnessed Fields' arguably best game of the 2022 season when the Dolphins visited Soldier Field. Fields had an outstanding performance with 123 yards passing, 178 rushing, and four total touchdowns, including three through the air. However, the game ended in disappointment when Equanimeous St. Brown dropped a perfect Fields pass on 4th down to end the game. Hill understands that Fields needs more help.

With the addition of Moore, Mooney, and Chase Claypool, the Bears' receiving group is now one of the most talented in a decade. They are young, athletic, fast, and have room to grow. Moore and Mooney give Fields speedy targets that can separate, while Claypool provides him with size that can be useful on 3rd down. The next step for the Bears is to improve their protection for Fields to prevent him from being sacked too often.

In conclusion, while the trade may have been a shock, it seems that Poles and the Bears are willing to take risks to improve their team. With the addition of Moore, the Bears' receiving group is now one of the best in the league and has the potential to help Fields have a breakout season through the air. Tyreek Hill's excitement about what is to come may not be unfounded. It should be fun to see how Fields and the new receiving group perform in the upcoming season.
