Gallup has played his first four seasons in Dallas with the Cowboys. He has been a very reliable asset to his team. However, Gallup also suffered a torn ACL in week 17. He was considered probably the best third option receiver in the NFL before the 2021 season when he got hurt. Gallup had 1107 yards during the 2019 campaign emerging on the national scene. He followed that year with a respectable 2020 season (843 yards). The receiver turns 26 in a few weeks. Both ESPN analysts mentioned that he could be the steal of free agency if he signs at a lower price because of his injury. We have seen so many players come back as good, if not stronger from knee injuries.
Gallup's biggest strength is that he can stretch the field with his deep threat ability. He can win against one on one coverage at a very high clip. His deep catch-catching ability is one of the best in football. This is certainly an area in which the Bears are lacking.
