On Adam Schefter's podcast, Bears wide receiver D.J. Moore revealed his initial shock upon receiving a call from Panthers' GM Scott Fitterer informing him of his trade to the Chicago Bears. At the time of the call, Moore was in the middle of moving homes, making the news all the more surprising.

Moore also mentioned that his former Ohio State teammate and current Bears quarterback, Justin Fields, was similarly taken aback by the news of Moore's trade. However, Fields quickly shifted his focus to the upcoming season and expressed excitement about the potential of the Bears' offense with Moore, Darnell Mooney, and Chase Claypool.

After the trade was finalized, Moore said the Bears were quick to reach out and make him feel welcome. He spoke with Fields the same day and later attended a Chicago Bulls game with Fields, Mooney, and Claypool, where they bonded over their shared love of football and received personalized jerseys.

Overall, despite the initial surprise, Moore is looking forward to joining the Bears and contributing to a dynamic offense alongside Fields and his other talented teammates.

With the addition of Moore, the Bears have secured a top-tier pass-catching option. Over the course of his five-year career with the Carolina Panthers, Moore has amassed an impressive 5,201 receiving yards and scored 21 touchdowns, seven of which were recorded during the 2020 season. His consistency and ability to make plays in the passing game make him a valuable asset to the Bears' offense as they look to make strides towards the playoffs in the upcoming season.
