Bears Defensive Coordinator Alan Williams will be OUT for Week 2, Eberflus will Serve as the DC

As reported by insider Adam Schefter, Bears defensive coordinator Alan Williams will not be joining the team in Tampa Bay this weekend due to personal reasons:

More reports reveal that Bears head coach Matt Eberflus will now be serving as the defensive coordinator for the time being, as well as being the head coach.

Williams was hired by the Bears before the 2022 season, around the same time as HC Eberflus. Williams has served as a defensive backs coach, defensive assistant, and defensive coordinator throughout his NFL coaching career.

Before coming to Chicago, Williams worked with the Buccaneers, Colts, Lions, and Vikings, since 2001.
