The Bears lost to the Buccaneers 27-17 in week 2. At many points in the game, it looked like the Bears were still in it, but then Fields would mess up, and all the momentum would disappear.
Fields ended his day going 16 for 29, 211 passing yards, 2 total touchdowns, and 2 interceptions, including one that cost the Bears the chance of making a comeback.
After the game, Bears fans were angry, and now want to see undrafted rookie Tyson Bagent take Fields' spot, and lead the team as the QB1:
Bagent has yet to be on the active roster this season, as he is the 3rd string QB. However, fans want to see him, as during the preseason, Bagent was on fire.
It looks like fans are giving up in Fields, and honestly, I can't blame them. Though this loss was a team effort, and a lot to do with poor play calling, we cannot deny that Fields looked lost at times, mainly in the 2nd half.
Fields was the Bears first round pick back in 2021, and they brought him in to be their franchise QB. Fans are not buying into this process anymore, and want them to move on from Fields.
