Coming from the Eagles, Edwards was seen as a tough linebacker who will become important to the Bears organization.
Since arriving this past offseason, Edwards is already making a good impression. In 5 games with the team, Edwards has made a total of 62 tackles and 1 sack. He has room for improvement, but based on his recent activities, it looks like that improvement will be approaching.
In a recent interview, Edwards explained how he was able to meet Bears LB legends Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs this past weekend, and was able to get rewarding advice from them both:
Urlacher and Briggs both played linebacker for the Bears for their entire careers. Urlacher was from 2000-2012, and Briggs was from 2003-2014. They both became Bears legends in their career, and are still remembered as some of the best to ever play, and possibly even the best LB duo of all time.
They only suited up as a Bear, and will forever be remembered as legends.
Edwards has hopes of being as great as those 2 legends, and will take all the advice he can get. He is already a solid player, but words of encouragement from Urlacher and Briggs could certainly change Edwards' game mentality.
