In the realm of analytics, the story seems different.

Pro Football Focus (PFF) ranks the Bears' left tackle as the 13th top pass blocker among all tackles, regardless of their position.

The recent offensive line grades and group rankings by PFF place the Bears' unit at a disappointing 30th. Notably, Jones has received six penalties amounting to 35 yards, with one being declined. This is notably four penalties higher than any other team member.

Zoltán Buday commented on Jones's performance: "In spite of the challenges faced by the Chicago offensive line, Jones appears to be even more refined than during his first year. After conceding 42 pressures in 2022, his trajectory indicates only 34 for 2023."

The only other Bears offensive lineman to face a penalty this season is the rookie right tackle, Darnell Wright, with two amounting to 10 yards, as per the stats from NFLGSIS.com.

PFF's rankings reveal only two offensive lines performing poorer than the Bears after their first two games: the Houston Texans in 31st place and the New York Giants in the 32nd spot.

Interestingly, PFF's evaluation indicates a decline in Jones' run-blocking capabilities. He holds the 36th spot in run blocking, even though this was an area he excelled in last year. Wright stands at 31st among all tackles for pass blocking, but impressively, he's 10th when it comes to run blocking.

In other rankings, left guard Cody Whitehair stands at 63rd out of 71 guards in terms of pass blocking and holds the 50th spot overall as per PFF's evaluation.

Lucas Patrick, the center, unfortunately, ranks last out of 33 centers based on PFF's grading, and similarly, holds the last position in the league for run blocking.

It's worth noting that the Bears' line-up currently misses starting left guard Teven Jenkins due to calf injuries, leading to Whitehair's shift from center to left guard. Moreover, the absence of right guard Nate Davis in the last match, following a family tragedy, saw Ja'Tyre Carter step into the position.
