Bears put starting center on IR

The Bears placed offensive lineman Lucas Patrick on injured reserve Thursday, the team announced. He injured his toe in the first quarter Monday night.

He started at center but played only 10 snaps before his injury.

Patrick must miss at least four games, making him eligible to return for the Bears' Nov. 27 road contest against the Jets.

After splitting time at right guard with Teven Jenkins in the Bears' first four games this season, Patrick started in place of the injured Cody Whitehair at left guard against the Vikings and Commanders and then opened at center versus the Patriots, supplanting Sam Mustipher.

Patrick signed with the Bears in March after spending his first six seasons with the Packers, appearing in 73 games with 34 starts while in Green Bay.

This is a tough blow for the Bears' offensive line, which was already struggling a lot so far in 2022...
