Bears Rank 11th on Players Arrested Since 2000
We all love to trash talk Detroit for their more publicized arrests of old. But what if I told you that the Bears have six more players arrested since 2000 than the Lions?
The Chicago Bears just miss out on the top ten, coming in 11th. The remaining top ten following the Bengals and Vikes are the Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, and the San Diego Chargers. Who would have thought to find Minnesota and Cincinnati on the top of this list?
The Detroit Lions have had a number of brushes with the Law, they actually trail the Bears in arrests since 2000, 23-17. The Lions are down at 18th, tied with 5 other teams, in arrests. I guess the old days left a taste in people's mouths, as Detroit is still seen by many as a rough and tumble team.
There's always been a stigma around players and arrests, some are viewed as dangerous and it increases their reputation and intimidation. Whereas for others it makes them social pariahs and can lead to the end of their careers. Either way, it's an interesting statistic to look at. Maybe I'll do a list of the players arrested on the Bears since 2000.
