"The Chicago Bears really busy offseason continued on Tuesday. While Allen Robinson was busy trying to recruit former teammate Allen Hurns on Twitter, general manager Ryan Pace made another signing. Pro Football Talk reports that the Bears will be re-signing linebacker John Timu. While bouncing between the practice squad and active roster the last couple years, the 25 year old has steadily shown improvement. Last season when Timu had to step in for the injured Danny Trevathan, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio expressed how much they believe in the LB. «We're confident in John,» Fangio said. «John knows our defense. He's been here for three years. The game's not too big for him. He loves to play. He is instinctive and smart. So we think he'll do fine.»
After having a heavy presence on special teams last year, Timu will have a chance to make himself a spot on the LB depth chart as the team still searches for a solid #3 behind Danny Trevathan and Nick Kwiatkoski.
