Bears rookies Jaquan Brisker, Kyler Gordon out with concussions
The Bears received many concerning updates regarding injuries on Wednesday. Indeed, both rookie defensive backs Jaquan Briske and Kyler Gordon have been placed on concussion protocol...
Cornerback Kyler Gordon and safety Jaquan Brisker did not practice on Wednesday. Both players are in concussion protocol, which will put their playing status for Week 12 in doubt. Gordon, the first of the Bears' two second-round picks in last spring's NFL Draft, appeared to be injured after a meeting with Falcons quarterback Marcus Mariota at the goal line. Brisker, who was taken a few picks after Gordon, has been the best of the Bears' rookies. If both are out, that would be a problem.
A third player, linebacker Sterling Weatherford, joins Gordon and Brisker in concussion protocol. Head injuries should be taken seriously, and seeing the Bears with three of them fills me with concern.
One bit of good news on the injury front is that right guard Teven Jenkins was a full go at practice. Dating back to last week, this makes the second consecutive full practice for Jenkins. The Bears made Jenkins active for the game against the Falcons, but didn't play him, citing that he was available only in an emergency. Hopefully, Jenkins gets a full upgrade that allows him to play on Sunday.- Luis Medina
