Well, it looks like the Bears will have to play this game without two of their best players. Indeed, RB David Montgomery has been ruled out for the team's Week 4 game at the New York Giants.
Montgomery suffered injuries to his right knee and ankle during the first quarter of Chicago's 23-20 win over the Houston Texans and did not return to the game. He did not practice this week as well and was not seen rehabbing during the portions of practice open to the media.
It will be Khalil Herbert taking his starting role. Herbert played amazing in Montgomery's absence last Sunday, pilling up 157 rushing yards and two touchdowns in 20 attempts.
As for the second key player, it's CB Jaylon Johnson who was also ruled out of the game.
With Johnson inactive against the Texans, the Bears will most likely start Kindle Vildor and Kyler Gordon at cornerback and then moved Gordon inside to nickel in passing situations, with Jaylon Jones replacing him at cornerback.
It will be interesting to see how they play against what is not the greatest receiving core for the Giants.
